Sometimes the best photographs require chasing the light before the rest of the world wakes up.

“Under a Peach Sky” captures the sun rising over the layered mountains of North Georgia as a winding road disappears through the forest below. Above the mountains, the morning sky glows in brilliant shades of peach—a fitting scene for the Peach State and the next chapter of our journey across America.

After reaching Calhoun, Lana and I got back on the road early the next morning and headed into the mountains with one goal:

Create Georgia’s photograph for The American Road Collection.

We made our way to Fort Mountain Overlook, sent the drone into the morning sky, and watched as the sun appeared between the clouds and mountains.

And #003 was born.

This image has been selected as Edition #003 of The American Road Collection, created as Travis, Lana & Kora travel thousands of miles across America—attempting to visit 58 Buc-ee’s locations across 14 states while creating an entirely new fine-art collection along the way.

In each state, Travis will create one signature fine-art photograph, capturing the landscapes, landmarks, light and unexpected moments encountered along The Road Ahead.

Georgia gave us mountains, a winding road and a sunrise painted in the perfect color.
